    Job Duties:

    • Responsibilities include analyzing blueprints and/or job specifications for projects in the material handling and processing industry to determine accurate cost estimates.

    • Work closely with the sales department to prepare time, cost, and material estimates; consulting with company personnel, clients, and vendors to discuss parameters of the job.

    • Resolve issues, confer with engineers and contractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates and prepare estimates for sales proposals.

    • Work with manufacturing department to expedite and complete orders and will make any necessary adjustments to inventory during the project.

    • Maintain a contact and relationships with suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.

    • Maintain the Estimator Program with current pricing and standards

    • Contact vendors on an annual basis to get yearly pricing for standard components

    • Assist in starting proposal files, both electronic and hard copy, and assign file and numbers for future reference and follow up

    • Assist in the preparation of both bare equipment & project proposals.

    • Complete written proposals for submittal on a timely and accurate basis.

    Requirement and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, construction, or related technical field preferred

    • Analytical with attention to detail

    • Experience in cost estimating preferred but not required

    • Experience with basic AutoCAD function preferred but not required

    • Mid to advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel and Word

    • Experience with project equipment, construction drawings and/or bid packages

    Summary of Responsibilities:
    This position will perform general administrative and clerical duties as required for the Operations Department and will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the department. This position will interact and participate in duties related to project administration, purchasing, service, and warranty.

    Job Duties:

    • Provide general clerical, data entry, and administrative tasks

    • Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, emails and forms

    • Packing slip/BOL printing and reconciliation with vendor invoices and receive orders/goods/materials into accounting system

    • Production book compiling and distribution

    • Obtain, compile, and distribute parts books and manuals for equipment

    • Project filing and meeting minutes production and distribution

    • Assist in equipment warranty administration and submittal

    • Provide administrative project management assistance, steel summary/BOL entry, shop load processing, and batch order entry

    • Perform service report summaries and invoicing and company vehicle tracking and administration

    • Perform other relevant duties as required


    • Customer service background is a plus, but generally exceptional customer service skills, over the phone and in person, with our customers and internal departments is expected

    • Experience and knowledge of machinery, equipment, or construction, while not required, is beneficial

    • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.

    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and have the ability to juggle multiple tasks with superb accuracy

    • Strong sense of urgency and problem-solving skills

    • Must be able to work well with others and be a team player

    • Must be able to communicate clearly and function in a delivery driven environment.

    Summary of Responsibilities:

    A Field Service Technician supports our customer base by responding to service calls for routine and emergency service on material handling and process equipment – crushing, screening, washing, and conveying equipment. Work includes:

    • Installation, commissioning, training, inspections, repairs, and rebuilds of equipment.

    • Train customers and fellow employees on general maintenance and operation of the equipment.

    • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues when dealing with application, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.

    • Lead internal crews and subcontractors in equipment and steel installations on Kemper Projects.

    • Maintain a safe working environment at all times.

    • Accurately and thoroughly document time, repairs, and parts used or needed on daily service reports.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    This position is a physical job that demands long hours, at times of standing, bending and kneeling. Heavy lifting sometimes required of up to 100 pounds. The position includes simple lifting and grasping, firm lifting and grasping, repetitive use of hands and use of Personal Protective Equipment.

    Field Service Technicians must supply their own basic hand tools. Specialty or heavy-duty items will be supplied by Kemper.


    • Proven experience and skills including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, welding, diagnostic, and general maintenance. A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience is desired.

    • Aptitude and interest in machinery and equipment.

    • Service or maintenance experience in quarry and material handling equipment, including rock crushers, screens, feeders, and conveyors.

    • Welding, torching, millwright and steel erection experience is desired.

    • Ability to read schematics and drawings and understand technical manuals and literature.

    • Ability to travel (including some overnights) with our crews as needed to customer locations. Typically, Monday through Friday, some weekend work as needed in emergency situations.

    • Ability to work overtime as needed to fulfill workload requirements.

    • Shop fabrication experience, while not required, is a benefit to assist Kemper Manufacturing based on project workload.

    • Must be safety oriented. Must be MSHA certified (training offered by KE) and able to work in a professional and safe manner at all times.

    • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

    • Must pass pre-employment drug screening.

    • Must be able to work in a team environment, with both customers and fellow employees, in a positive manner during fast pace, stressful situations.

    Pay range will be based on experience of candidate. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance options after 90 days of employment, vacation and PTO days upon policy set milestones, STD and life insurance, 401K plan with employer participation.

    Summary of Responsibilities:

    To serve as Design Engineer for various material handling projects from inception to completion including interpretation of specifications, design engineering, selection of components, creation and checking of drawings, and resolution of problems occurring during manufacturing and installation.

    Job Duties:

    • Review new orders along with associated specifications and technical documents.

    • Manage small projects within Engineering from inception through completion ensuring all details are covered and requirements are met.

    • Prepare design calculations, 3D models, drawings, sketches, bills of materials, etc. for drafters and others to satisfy the requirements of orders and customer specifications.

    • Layout basic to complex structures incorporating various types of equipment.

    • Select purchased components and prepare purchase requisitions when applicable.

    • Develop complex design models utilizing AutoCAD 3D.

    • Schedule and/or attend onsite meetings with customer to discuss project objectives and goals.

    • Prepare layout approval drawings for customer approval.

    • Check design models prepared by other designers for completion and correctness.

    • Work with fabrication shop personnel to answer questions or solve problems encountered during the manufacturing process.

    • Work with installation crew personnel to answer questions or solve problems encountered during the installation process.

    • Visit customer's facility, when necessary, to obtain measurements of existing equipment and structures for interface of new equipment.

    • Perform other relevant duties as required.


    • Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD 3D modeling, design, and 2D drawing creation.

    • Experience within the Bulk Material Handling Industry is strongly preferred but not required.

    • Experience with structural steel calculations & reinforced concrete.

    • Must have broad based machine knowledge with high mechanical aptitude.

    • Mechanical design experience with power transmission components such as electric motors, speed reducers, sheaves & v-belts, sprockets & chain, bushings & shafts, and bearings.

    • Experience with sizing and selecting hydraulic drives & motion systems beneficial but not required.

    • Shafting verification for bending and torsional applications.

    • Steel detailing experience with knowledge of AISC, AWS, OSHA, MSHA standards.

    • Attention to detail crucial to success in the position.

    • Must be able reason and think logically.

    • Must be able to analyze problems and develop corrective actions.

    • Must be able to work with others to collectively solve problems.

    • Must be able to multi-task several projects and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required (Excel/Word).

    • 5 to 6 years design experience in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering Field


    • AS or BS in Mechanical or related Engineering Field
